WHO IS AARIZ?
Aariz Aatif is an infant who was diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer, hepatoblastoma, when he was two months old. Doctors in his native Pakistan said there was no hope as he needed a transplant. Thankfully, Aariz has been able to come to the United States on humanitarian parole for the transplant.

WHAT MUST BE DONE?
For the past many months, people from all over the world, strangers and family alike, have been working relentlessly in order to raise the US$325,000 needed before the hospital can begin to treat him. After these many months of effort, what we are left with is the task of raising the final

US$99,195.59

Updated 7/19/2007  We started this project to raise the final $99,195.59 for Baby Aariz, and through the tireless efforts of so many worldwide, we have achieved this goal in just three weeks. The money has been deposited to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and we now await the time when Baby Aariz will have his transplant surgery. There is no way to possibly thank any of you enough, but please accept the thanks and prayers of Baby Aariz's parents, and the 9900Heroes team.

Though one goal of this project has been achieved, we are left with another.

We want our 9900 Heroes.

We still need to pay Baby Aariz's bill at Stony Brook Hospital for his chemotherapy treatment, and we want to be there for the family in case of any future expenses as treatment at the Children's Hospital goes on.

We ask you then, to become a Hero.

Skip lunch one day at work. Don't go to the movie theater this weekend. Carpool this week.
What does $10 really mean to us, that we cannot part with it for the sake of a child's life.

HOW DO I BECOME A HERO?
You can help save Aariz by being among the Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred Heroes we need to donate just $US10 to the Save Aariz Foundation. Ten Dollars is not much, and it is all we ask of you. Once you have donated that amount, register yourself as a Hero, and join 9,899 others who will have come together in trying save a life.

We won't be checking whether or not you have fulfilled your pledge. That is up to you to do so in the most expeditious matter, and it is a trust unto you until you do so. If you choose to call yourself a Hero, it is only you who will know the truth of your Heroism.

WHY SHOULD I BECOME A HERO?
Someone wrote a few words that inspired us, and may just inspire you. We'd like to share them:

I am not his relative,
Nor his family friend.

But what I see in this boy,
Is an opportunity for myself.
I see in him a redemption for my sins.

I remember what it was like
To feel the suffering of the poor.
Now I pass them by,
Without ever knowing one nameless soul.

But perhaps this boy could be my redemption.

How many times do I transgress Allah,
Clinging to the pleasures of this world?

How many times do I turn from the face of Him
From whom which we will return?

But perhaps this boy could be my redemption.

I used to know how to cry.
I used to remember what it was like to feel the suffering of the young.
Here and now in America,
It is just a fading memory that has entirely left my heart.

But perhaps this boy could be my redemption.

Aariz, will you testify to Allah on the Judgment day for me?
Aariz, do you know that Jannah is such a beautiful place?
Aariz, I think to myself what if you were my child someday?
How could I ask from Allah for what I myself refused to give?

But perhaps you could be my redemption. Because I know I keep doing all those things I regret
And there will be no chance for me then to turn back the clock.
But what if I can save your life right here and now,
And get the reward for you and all of mankind?

Oh Allah, please make our efforts for this boy be our redemption.
